YouTube Videos - "you do not have permission to access the requested resource"

When I tried to view YouTube videos from my favorites or from my history, it doesn't work and a pop up appears saying "you do not have permission to access the requested resource".

In the meantime, when I load up a different video not on my favorites, or I even tried the same video I tried the first time but from the related videos section and it works ! HOWEVER, another failure observed !!! ----> such YouTube videos could not 360 rotated !!

Does anyone with same failure as me ?

Apple Support team, can you please advise ?

thanks

I've got the same issue on my iPhone. Usually it occurs when I try to continue watching something I left some time earlier. Also when I switch to a different wifi.

Killing the yt app help every time though. at least I know a quick workaround but it's still annoying.

Let's see how long it'll take Apple to get that budger out.

I too am having issues with this. I believe that is has something to do with the YouTube application being removed the pre-installed applications on the iOS software, meaning you'll have to either use a browser as an alternative or wait for Google to create their YouTube application. The reason for this is that the licensing between Google and Apple has ended, and now I believe that Apple are going to create a Google free OS. Hope this cleared things up for some of you.

Another disappointment with the iPhone 4S. The disaster of the low battery capacity was first. The tragic problem with low audio after OS upgrade is another. And now You Tube app spits out stupid message. Of course the iPhones OS is the problem. Why Apple does not respond to any questions? It's simple, they do not care. They only care about our money. AppleFanatic2011 wrote that the cause may be a divorce Apple with Google. It's very possible. There are two ways to get rid of this message. Go to Settings \ General \ Restrictions \ turn OFF YouTube Icon. Tap again \ General \ restriction \ turn back ON YouTube icon. Now, every Ytube videos are working properly. - But just one day. The second way. Hold the power button and make Power OFF. After power ON YouTube video works fine. - Again one day only! Ytube App will probably be the only way to watch video clips with no obstacles.

When you get the "You do not have permission to access the requested resource", it's the YouTube application that's wedged.

All you have to do is to completely exit the YouTube app, and restart it.

To completely shut it down:

1) Double click your Home button to bring up the list of currently running apps.

2) Hold your finger on any icon until they start to wiggle, and little close icons appear.

3) Finally click the close icon for the YouTube app.

Frustrating that it happens, but at least it's quick and easy to work around.
