disk utility error.
i'm getting an error in disk utility and i very need a fix. 10 points for any who could answer in detail.
iBook, Mac OS X (10.4.2), iBook g4 2005
Are you attempting to restore the system software?
no, a normal usb flash drive (8gb)
You have a verion of Mac OS X 10.5 which you wish to install on your iBook and are converting the iso file to a bootable drive?
it's not a iso it's a dmg i'm trying to make the dmg bootable then i'm going to restore the a dmg to a usb flash drive that has 8gb. i'm trying the openfirmware method because ppc mac don't boot from usb
You keep on asking this question in different formats (there are at least 2 other topics similar to this one, about mounting and burning Leopard from an iso or .dmg) and are not always following through on your promises (not that that's so critical)when you get the answer which isn't to your liking. e.g. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4079740
As I said before, you cannot boot from a .dmg. Niel qualified this by asking you have a server version. We also made suggestions as to burning a DVD from which you can boot.
Ok i try to anwser to some of my friends questions via this forum i can't disapoint them! because they do not have apple ids! Sorry for being a good friend!
