Spanish Spelling

Yes you can. I use Pages in Spanish all the time. Go to Edicion and select Ortografía. Once there select Spanish as main dictionary and that´s it...very easy isn´t it? Much better if your version of iWork is in spanish also.

I don't see spanish as a choice of dictionaries. Also is it possible to get all the menu headings to switch to Spanish?

The only way to switch the menus for Pages (and Mac OS X) is to make Spanish the main language in the International pane of your System Preferences. This will also change the spell checker to Spanish.

NB You may need restart Pages for the change to take effect, or have to log out of you Mac OS X user account.

You should also be able to change Pages to Spanish by doing Get Info on its icon, hitting the Languages tab, and unchecking everything but Español.

It would be very strange if it were missing. Are you sure you have looked at Edit > Spelling > Spelling > Dictionary?

Sorry, I forgot about the Tiger bug where this is missing. It is present in 10.3.9. Then I guess you have to choose the language in Inspector > Text > More. Or maybe select it in Mail and it will carry over to Pages.

I came across this oddity when replying to another post recently. The Dictionary drop-down option does appear in Safari, Mail & TextEdit in Tiger, just not Pages. I don't know if setting it in one of those would make it active in Pages.
