Is Bad To Charge My iPad 3 Every Day

I just got my iPad 3 a couple of weeks ago and it's ok. I could say that it great but the battery drains really quick. So i was thinking i could change the way i charge my iPad. Instead of charging it every 2 days to 90%, then the third day drain it down to 0 and charge it to 100% ( that's what i used to do with my first gen iPad' it worked perfect ), is it bad for the battery if i charge my new iPad every day? I don't want to hurt it more then how it came with new, so i don't know if i can charge it every single day to 90% and some other day in the week drain it all the way down and have it full charge. If i charge it every day theni can add more brightness which i would really like to, and add some location services, and maybe use it more! But please tell me if i should not do it because it could hurt the battery down the road. Thank you and give me tips on how to enjoy the new iPad more! Thanks!

It's always best to fully drain it before recharging. Apple recommends doing that once a month ATLEAST! Try to every time, but if you can't you can't.

Apple recommends doing that to calibrate the battery sensor. It has nothing to do with prolonging the life of the battery. There is absolutely no reason to do it every time.

Do you know actually how lithium batteries work? Every time you charge your device it is a charge cycle. No matter if it's 80% or 10%. It's a cycle. When the cycles climb the battery diminishes. Why not get the most for your cycle?

No, a charge cycle is 100%. Charging it 80% is 80% of a charge cycle. Charging it 10% is 10% of a charge cycle. Yes. I know how lithium ion batteries work. So, apparently, does Apple:

About Battery Cycles

A charge cycle means using all of the battery’s power, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a single charge. For instance, you could use your notebook for an hour or more one day, using half its power, and then recharge it fully. If you did the same thing the next day, it would count as one charge cycle, not two, so it may take several days to complete a cycle.

I misread that. I apologize. Doesn't seem right when your always told to not stick you half charged batteries to charge. I always thought it was best for any battery to get it low before recharging. Guess it doesn't matter for your iPad. Thanks.

There is a lot of misconception and misunderstanding about rechargable batteries. And, most of us were trained, back in the NiCad battery days, to NEVER charge a battery until it was fully drained. Old habits are hard to break, sometimes.

Best of luck.
