Printing the Directory of a Hard Drive

Does anyone know of a method to print or create a text file of every file and subfolder on a specific hard drive?

I am trying to create a database or at least searchable text of the contents of my backup drives, so if I need to pull up an old project I can easily find it.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Download the free TextWrangler program (http://www.barebones.com/products/TextWrangler/), create a new document, and then drag the desired folder or drive to the new document's window. From there you can print it, etc.

There are other options and approaches for doing this as well. See here for some of them: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10402034-263.html

textwrangler worked, had a weird issue with dragging the main OS drive over but cured it by changing permissions on the desktop (which made no sense, I am the only user and had to enable everyone read and write access.

thanks!
