My iPod Classic stays on "Charging, please wait..." mode :(

So I just found my old iPod in my cousin's boat (it was in the ice chest). Thought it still works, but whether I plug it in to the wall charger, onto my dock, or my computers, it'll stay on that screen. But somehow when I went to WalMart the other day and put it on one of the docking station, it turned on! Can someone help me with this problem ?

iPod classic, I forgot the OS Version :P, 80G

Leave it charging for at least 2 hours, as the screen would be alive after 30 minutes of charging.

Then Reset it

  1. After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
  2. Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
  3. Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
  4. Then release the buttons
  5. Select your preferred language.
