My 4s camera want work on close up to deposit a check. can't read acct number. but works fine on regular pics

Talk to whoever made the app you're using. This is not a native function of the iPhone.

The Chase app works fine for me on my 4S and for my wife on her 4.

Move the camera further away from the check. Tap the screen to focus on the check. Improve your lighting,
