Help with my iPhone

I recently bought an iPad to replace my laptop that I had sold. When I put my iPhone in to my computer to back up all my pictures and music it did not allow me to back these upto my computer. I am now stuck with all my pics etc on my iPhone and have no idea how I am going to upload these to my computer. I have tried the iCloud but cannot seem to get them on to the iCloud from my phone... Any one had this problem? Please help..

is this the computer that you used to sync on a regular basis?

Or was it the laptop? If it was the laptop, did you make a copy of your itunes media library and transferred it to your computer?

Can you at least import your pics to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 that way you at least have a backup of your pictures.
