Lion has given me nothing but trouble!

Any or all of the following third-party system modifications may be contributing to your problem:

    Microsoft Mouse

    Tether

    LittleSnitch

I suggest you uninstall all of them according to the developers' instructions, reboot, and see whether there's any improvement. If there is, you can experiment with putting them back, on at a time, to identify which one is at fault.

If there's no improvement after making the suggested changes, post again.

By looking at the stack trace "backtrace" (a series of nested instructions carried out by the computer, eg sin(log(tan(x)))), it looks like something is going wrong with your graphics chip. And judging by the fact that the process it's tripping over is the Window Server itself, I don't think there is much you can do yourself.

My suggestion would be to take to an Apple Genius (it's an Air, I see - so it's probably still under warranty or AppleCare if you have it?) and point out those parts of that madness. Since it's the WindowServer process itself causing the issue (with your graphics chip thrown in the mix), it's like a manufacturing defect.

Sorry for your bad experience :/ If it is a hardware defect, Apple should do good by you and replace the relevant parts (or perhaps the entire computer).

I'm hesitant to say that this is the problem, but he's right. The first thing anyone is going to have you do is remove any third-party kernel extensions.

But you can do this without uninstalling them

Believe it or not, MacOS has its own 'Safe Mode' as well: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

tl;dr: Restart and hold down the shift key before you hear the startup sound. Make sure you don't check off 'Restore Windows,' either - I'm not sure if it would be a problem but it's better to do a clean reboot.
