After Mobile Me ending, I had to switch to Go Daddy for my hosting site.  I just upgraded to iWeb 09 and after clicking the "Publish Site" button, it is no longer highlighted - does that mean the site is publishing?  Thank you in advance!

    Hi there,

When you click "Publish Site", you will see the progress in the top left corner next to your site name. Once it as finished publishing, all pages will appear blue.

Thank you.  I had been using iWeb 08 for four years, and LOVED it.  When Mobile Me ended, I had to switch and chose Go Daddy - which sadly seems to have been a mistake.  Their customer service is not very nice; especially to someone who is not too tech savvy, like me.  When I upgraded to 09 today, I was not sure if I had done something wrong, so since everything is still red, it must be still publishing.  Thank you for your reply.

No problem. It's worth doing a connection test by clicking on the Globe symbol next to your site name in the top left corner & then clicking on "Connection Test" under "FTP Server Settings". This will confirm your settings have been entered correctly etc.

I love iWeb also. I upgraded from the iLife 06 version (1.1.2) a while ago & I think it is great. That's a shame you have had trouble with GoDaddy.

Thank you.  The connection test worked - I am hoping it is just taking a while to upload the material to the new hosting site.  One person with Go Daddy was helpful; sadly the rest were not.  I am hoping this will "fix" having to deal with them in the future!  I miss Mobile Me!  LOL.  Thanks again!

I guess it's sometimes the luck of the draw! It sounds like it is just taking time to upload to the new destination. Does it show the progress?

Does progress mean the buttons to the right; that look like volume buttoms? If so, then yes.  If not; then I have no clue?  My 08 iWeb did not do this.  Everything is red currently, but the Publish Site button is not highlighted.  Hopefully it is just uploading.  : )  Thank you again for your kind replies and patience!

That's ok. Once you have clicked "Publish Site" you will see a couple of messages confirming that you want to publish the site & you will then be notified that your site will publish in the background. You should then see a circle next to your site name (in top left) which will indicate the progress.

Oh!  Ok, thank you.  I have a red circle next to my name that looks like a globe.  It does not "publish" the same way 08 did, in that I cannot tell where the progress is.  But it might just be the switching over to Go Daddy's hosting site and it might take a long time.  Thank you again!  The Test Connection says I'm ready to publish, and if I try to "quit" iWeb, it says quitting will stop publishing, so it must be uploading.  : )  Thank you again.

No problem! Hopefully it is uploading as it should.

    Good luck!

Thank you for your help.  Hopefully it will go back live tonight.  Thanks!

It may be worth trying to access your site via your web browser to see if there is progress.

Still nothing.  I am hoping that I just need to be patient as this new iWeb connects to the GoDaddy hosting.

It will depend on how much content you have to upload etc as to how long it will take to publish but if there isn't much progress after a while, I'd try quitting iWeb & relaunch/re-publish.
