Full screen animation causes motion sickness - How do I disable it?

Lion finally introduces a standardized full screen mode. This is a great thing, supposing that problems with usability on multiple monitors get ironed out, etc.

Currently, however, I cannot use it. There is something that prevents me from enjoying full screen mode - the animation that occurs when entering or leaving full screen mode gives me motion sickness!

This is no laughing matter, feeling sick to your stomache and queasy with vertigo is not something an OS should insist upon! My searches have come up with nothing for disabling the full screen mode animation. Is this correct? It feels like there *must* be some terminal command to opt-out of this motion sickness.

Can anyone offer any relief? How can I use full screen mode without seeing the animation that causes my head to spin?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
