Hi and tnxs for reading.

By looking my HD Space applepie I am noticing that 50Gb are used for backup.

Im guessing it is for Local Time Machine Backup.

For my 250Gb HD it is quite a lot, so I am wondering if this allocated space will be reduced in case I need it (by automatically prioritising tasks) or if there is a way to manually reduce the space which TM uses for local backups (any setting??).

If that is due to local backups, that space will be automatically relinquished if needed for regular saves. See the note at the end of http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4878
