I can't Complete my I-Tunes Registry with a Maestro Card, Please help!

Hello I have just got an Iphone 3Gs today and trying to set it up so I can download Apps and things it asks for an APPLE ID So I made one and things was going well until I had to ente rmy Bank Card Details, all was ok till it asks for an "Issue Number" Which a Maestro Card in Uk, England Does NOT Have, and without one it isn't letting me proceed with the Registry so I can not download any apps or access the APP store 😟

Any help on what I can do would be amazing thankyou.
