iPod disabled

when I turn on my iPod I get the messge : iPod disabled. Connect to iTunes. When I try to connect to iTunes, I get the warning that my iPod is disabled and I need to enter my passcode on iTunes. I cannot get a keyboard to come up on my iPod.
