Over the last few days I have been continually getting text alerts - sometimes 10 a day - but there are no messages delivered. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to stop it please?😕

The messages are not from anybody.....that's the problem. The phone sounds the alert that a text message has arrived but there is nothing there. It keeps on doing this regularly throughout the day and night and is driving me mad.
it might be a long shot, but check your Sounds settings and see if the alert for Messages sound is used for another item, for example Email, Calendar etc.
It may be that something else is happening and using the sound of a text message arriving rather then the "ghost" text messages.
are they from the same person of different people?
Some people with iOS Devices do not realise that having the "Subject" option ticked means that the first box is the subject field, the second is for the message.
This means they are sending Subjects not messages.
Its a long shot, but worth checking.
