What is white keyhole in place of a thumbnail in project's library browser view?

I have a small white-bordered keyhole in the position of one of the thumbnails in a project I am viewing in the library browser view. Originally it appeared with an orange flag which I have turned off. I don't even use the flag feature. What is this? I am unable to open it. The other thumbnails appear normally in this project.

Thanks for your help.

Well, now it is gone. I clicked on one of the other thumbnails and it disappeared. Apparently, the white border was the same as appears whenever you select a thumbnail. However, in this case it was very small because it was surrounding a short thin black line which you can see if you look closely in the copied screen print above.

I have no idea how this happened. I have been using Aperture for almost three years and have never seen this before.

Thanks for your response anyway.
