You can't.
You export the Slideshow from Aperture to the Finder - and in the process that makes a QuickTime movie of it. You then add that to your DVD project.

After rendering your Slideshow as a video file to your disk, as TD explained, burn the video file as a video DVD, not a data DVD, see this user tip how to do it:
"Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac?"

Leonie,
I'm not sure I see the tip that you're referring to in that post. Is that definitely the correct post?
Thanks.
Thanks Mark,
by bookmarks got mixed up 😊
I meant to point to this post by Karsten Schlüter:
How to create a video-DVD? (Macs without iDVD)

Aha! Thank you!
hopefully still on topic, but opinion stated here. it does seem illogical to sell me a MBP with a dvd burner and nothing to burn with. It would have cost pennies to include idvd with the bundled ilife. Ok if I bought a MBA i could see the logic.
and nothing to burn with
That is not exactly true; the Finder can burn - just select a folder, ctrl-click, and select "Burn folder to ...".
What is missing, is the possibility to render a video media disk, and that is what you need iDVD for, since the Finder only can burn data disks. But if you use iDVD or any other program to render a media disk image you can burn the disk image on your MBP and create a media DVD.
luckily I carried over premiere elements from the old stinkpad. It burns movies so it should burn the output from aperture.
