Can I recover iCal data (deleted MM account) using time machine?

My iCal was trying to continually connect with Mobile Me (service discontinued). I stupidly deleted the account thinking that would stop the connection attempts and all my calendar information disappeared. I thought wrongly, that the data would remainon the computer!!!

Can I get my data back using time machine or any other way?

I'm using 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and not with iCloud
