My iPod charger stopped working !

OK , so I have had an iPod 4th generation 32GB since January 2012 . I left my original charger in North Dakota in about March . I got a new one about a week later that I got back . And my iPod was dead for about a week . Because I have no phone , or laptop my iPod is everything . So , about 3 months later my charger wasn't working . I didn't know if it was dead or anything , so eventually I got a new charger and it worked for about 3 months again . I still use it , if I let it sit over night I can get about a half a battery . But , when I plug my iPod into the computer it DOES NOT SAY : USB not reconized . I was wondering if it was my iPod or charger . Then I borrowed my dad's charger and it worked . I can't return it either . I really need a solution , any ideas . I don't understand computer language either . PLEASE , someone help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😢
