Q: New iPad for presentations...MANY questions
Hi all,
I just got the new iPad (32GB, Wi-Fi only) and want to use it to give my keynote presentations. I normally use my macbook pro (~late 2008) running Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I also have Keynote Remote on my iphone 4. And, I have Apple TV (got as gift and haven't used yet).
My ideal situation would be to give the presentation from my iPad and walk around the room. I have done alot of research online about this and I keep getting more confused. I bought AirServer to mirror to my macbook pro and tried to do it last night. It worked but only when my house WiFi was used. There was alittle lag and I assume if I got a VGA adapter to hook directly into my iPad it would be smoother. So this brings me to my questions...
1. I might not have access to a wifi network, is there a way to make a network using my macbook pro or Apple TV so I can commnicate to my iPad to give the presentation (and still walk around the room)?
2. If I need to hook my iPad directly to the projector with the VGA adapter, I assume I can use my Keynote remote on my iphone, yes? How about without a wifi available?
3. If I use Keynote remote on my iPhone, is there a laser pointer feature, or an app with one that works?
Sorry for all this but I am just alttle numb. I probably don't have the best grasp of how networks work or bluetooth so forgive my ignorance.
Any and all help is much appreciated
Thanks,
Chris
