blue screen when using safari

Hi. I have a macbook pro that I purchased in March of 2011. I am having an issue that only seems to happen when I am using safari and am on www.outlook.com which is where my work email is. I get a blue screen and cant get back in unless i hit fn and command and esc at the same time and then esc that and if I go fast I can restart the computer but if i am still slow it will just keep on happening until i restart the system. I am not sure how to address this problem I have been reading other posts and they dont seem to know either. My macbook pro is i7 processor 4gb ram and mac os x 10.6.8. I would appreciate any help. One of the postings suggested upgrading to 10.7 but then others said dont so I am not sure what to do. I have been a mac user for years and have never had a problem prior to this. any idea when 10.8 will be coming out?

I appreciate you taking the time to read and any and all suggestions.

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari.

Quit Safari if it's open.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type this exactly as you see it here:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go

Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Relaunch Safari. Try outlook.com

BTW, Command + Option + Esc is the keyboard shortcut for force quitting apps.

hi when i tried to go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db it gave me an error message that said I did not have persmission to go there which i dont understand as i am the only account on the computer. Please help. BTW the command+options+esc will not get me out of the application I just sit with a blue screen 😟 The fn command and esc takes me to a different application which appears to be some video controller and then i can esc from there and get to main screen but have to go really fast and restart of the screen will just go back to blue some had said that i ahve to go into system preferences and disable something about graphics switching does that sound like it makes sense? I am still trying to solve this problem. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreicate.
