When I was updating my ipod touch all of my music in the itunes library has disappeared. The folders are still there but they say that they are empty. I still have all of the music on my ipad, is there a way to take the music off the ipad and put it back in the itunes library folders?

I have the same issue. Even all my purchases are not showing when I sync, including music, apps, books etc. I just signed into iTunes and nothing in the library. Say I have multiple computer usage which I don't. Just my PC & iPad. Any help out there to retrieve the library??????

Thanks for the advice. I located the music library. But now my purchases are not showing when I click on purchases on the left side. They are in the library but not the purchase list. This includes Apps, books etc.
When I try to sync the iPad it is telling me that the iPad is synced with another library that I do not have. And it wants to delete the iPad contents and replace with the incorrect library that does not have all the purchases.
I cannot locate the original library, yet this is the same PC.
Being computer iliterate does not help. Help!
