Jul 11, 2012 8:54 AM in response to debi.appleby dalstott,In regards to the iPhone 4S you show in the footer, I would suggest that you repost over on the iPhone community. You will get a more focused audience for responses.

Jul 18, 2012 11:00 AM in response to debi.appleby debi.apple,I do not have any idea what that notation is doing on my discussion post. I am NOT referring to an iPhone question. This issue happened on my MacBookPro. the message box simply "floated" above everything else on my screen no matter what I did. Eventually I started and rebooted the computer and cleared the matter. It came up just after I had made more room on my startup disk, an issue I must address quite often as well.

Jul 19, 2012 8:20 AM in response to debi.appleby Appaloosa mac man,We constantly get software update messages. You have already learned how to get rid of them. Turn the computer off and restart. The real key is to take note about what software you are using when the message comes up. Keep a diary so you can give details.
My wife's laptop often changes without her giving permission. Someone has written a software routine that changes her browser to Bing instead of Google. Once, Google sent a message that it intercepted an attempt to reset the browser preference so they are aware of the sabotoge.
Good notes with good details will let you pin down who is sending unwanted pop up instructions.

Aug 22, 2012 10:39 PM in response to debi.appleby sjiandge,I recently had a yellow box that was in the middle of my screen with the url:
http://www.apple.com/legal/sla
I noticed that after I force quit the "software update" that the yellow box disappeared. I would recommend doing that as well as closing all your current browsers and restarting your computer. Hope this helps!
