can mac read ntfs files?
i cant read any drive that isnt ntfs format

Macs can read NTFS formatted drive. They cannot write to them without third party support software.

The mac OS doesn't support NTFS writes. If you need to write to a NTFS drive, there is a little app that you can test drive from Paragon http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ - it's only $20.
