I've tried copying "privat" folder to desktop and hereafter importing the entire folder to Iphoto but it only importes MP4 files and not MTS (AVCHD) files? Help, anyone?

What version of iPhoto? Prior to version 9.3 AVCHD is not supported by iPhoto - you must use iMovie

Before importing all my old AVCHD files, I would like to first determine whether iPhoto will alter them in any way. I see that the files I have imported from my camera are now MOV files rather than MTS. Do you know if this means that they have been altered in any way (for example, quality loss)?
