Q: When using iMessage on my iPad it tells me my Apple ID is incorrect but it works on other devices and in itunes

When using my iMessage on my iPad a message appears saying 'incorrect user name or password'. My apple ID is the same on other devices and for iTunes with no trouble. How can I set up iMessage to work on my iPad? I even tried setting up a new one and same message appeared.
