how much will it cost to repair my laptop after a liquid incident

During a trip my shampoo bottle opened up and spilled all over my suitcase. in my suitcase was my MacBook which became covered in it. the shampoo also made its way into the charger jack and a few others. I immediately cleaned it and set the laptop on its side over night to drain out the leftover shampoo.in the morning I plugged it in to see if it worked and it began to. But it took me to a screen which said to restart the computer. I did so and it did the Vertu save thing again. Does any one know why it's doing this? If not then how much will this cost to fix? If I go to the Apple store, will they be able to help?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hi there

My guess is something on the motherboard is happening or some got into the Hard Drive. shampoo is slow moving and goopy. Likely not all of it came out. It also conducts electricity so if on the motherboard/in the hard drive it could cause a problem.

I would take it to an apple store and have them check it out. They should do a simple check for you for free and let you know how much it will cost to repair/replace components.

Not ideal but you have a non-ideal situation.

thanks
