lost photos

lost photos

i saved all my photos onto disc well i thort i did!! upgraded my mac from panther to tiger, and in doin that subsequently lost the file information for my photos, so that when i open iphoto i see the thumbnails but can not open for a larger image, nor can i open in preview. the files i thort had been saved to disc when i attempt to open it tells me the alias is missing and i need to find it. i dont know how to find it! and am quite stressing now as the images are really importmant for my final degree show at uni (as if im not stressed enough lol) if any1 can help me or needs nemore info bout the problem please msg bk 🙂 i will b very greatful cheers

Hello Kerina

If you upgraded and not fresh install from Panther to Tiger, then your photos should still be on your computer. It may be just a matter of relocating and rebuilding your library in iPhoto. If you saved them on a disk, then you may have to reimport them into iPhoto. It just depends on exactly what you did on the upgrade and how you saved them to a disc.

You may need to provide a little bit more info on exactly what you did.

hey i, just upgraded didnt wipe the laptop when i installed tiger, so kept all my programs and other work and music, it is just the photos that hav had the problem. to save the photos to disc i saved them from the hardrive from the pictures and iphoto files, i saved each year that ive had the digital camera (2004, 2005 and 2006) then also saved the albums to disc which should hav included the data. the msg that comes up upon tryin to open the images saved to disc is as follows: 'the alias "DSCN1080.JPG' could not be opened because the original item could not be found' then there is the option to either 'delete alias', 'fix alias' or click ok, i attempted to fix my selectin the original file that is meant to be saved onto the hardrive but this was unsuccessful.
