Modem Status in Menu Bar?

Modem Status in Menu Bar?

How do I get rid of the modem status icon in the menu bar? Since there is not a modem in my network config list, there is not a place to deselect "show status icon in menu bar".

Any help?

Depress the COMMAND key, select the icon in the menubar and drag it out.

K-ji, u seem to have a grip on this: I have the opposite problem. Checked "show modem status in tool bar". It does but so long as I'm in Safari / Internet Connect but the mo I go to MAIL the tool bar disappears. I'm overseas connecting from a mobile so SO very annoying when I lose the icon and want to disconnect ASAP and have to...well go round the houses. Any ideas?

I never knew the cmd key could control those things. I just moved them around into an order I prefer. Cool tip.
