I have an Apple Configurator install that wont recognize an iPad when I attach it via USB. I cant prepare it or refresh it. It was supervised. I get an error message that says "policy does not have correct profile data". Please help!!!

Is this the updated Configurator 1.1?

You may have to edit the Configurator database table and remove offending device details. You may also want to delete this instance of configurator and reinstall it if you don't have a lot of work invested in the setup.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I am having the same issue

I experienced this error, had to reset the iPad 2 selecting the Erase All Content and Settings option and start over.

Ditto with Bart2. I had to wipe the iPad and start over. It worked after that.

I tried that with no luck, however I ended up giving up and making a new user account, recreating my profiles, and creating a new backup which finally worked.

If your preapre tab is stuck in this state:

1. Quit Configurator

2. In Terminal, execute defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey

If a supervised device is stuck in this state:

1. option-right-click the device in the Supervise tab, and click remove.

2. Re-connect the device

3. You will have to re-define the supervision settings for that device.

Note: the spelling error in the defaults key is intentional. 🙂

1. Run the application 'Terminal.app' which you will find in '/Applications/Utilities' on your Macintosh.
2. Type this into it: defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey
3. Hit the return key.

If you get no error message, it worked, and you can quit the app.

I also wiped the ipad and still am having no luck....
