Q: my ipod shuffle 1st gen wont recognise the new itunes software, How can i Get it to? any ideas?

My Ipod shuffle 1st gen wont connect to the new itunes any ideas on how fix this?

    A few questions first.  Did this Shuffle ever appear in iTunes on this PC or did this just start happening after say an update to iTunes?  Or is this the first time you are connecting the Shuffle to this particular PC?

     

    Are you plugging the Shuffle into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC?  Do you have any other USB devices connected to the PC besides the keyboard and mouse?  If so, remove them all and reboot your PC. 

     

    It might not also hurt to reset the Shuffle with it still connected to the high powered USB port.

    Does it appear to charge while connected?
