Command-F not working in Safari

All of a sudden, command-F (find) stopped working in Safari (5.1.7). Choosing Find from the Edit menu works fine. I checked the keyboard shortcuts in Systems Preferences, and there is nothing for command-F.

Is there anywhere else to look? Thanks.

When I try to use Command F in Safari, at best it will find things that are not there, and at worst it will totally flip out and make the text backwards/upside down, disable the scrolling, and just generally look like a graphics malfunction. Sometimes refreshing the page several times will bring it back to normal, though not the Find function, and sometimes I have to quit safari. Has this happened to anyone before?? Please help! I have 10.7.5
