ATV will not recognise my home sharing iTunes account. The ATV tells me to switch on home sharing when it is already on, any ideas why? I have tried the usual on/off stuff but am now at a loss as to whats going on, any help would be appreciated.

Have you ensured all devices are logged in with the same apple ID and all devices are on the same network?
Check that your firewall and any security software you might have installed allow access for iTunes.
