Q : Does this link mean that MBP would not support 16GB ram?

Hey ,

I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch, Early 2011; 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

And i have decided that it's time to upgrade my machine , so i got myself an SSD and Extra RAM memory from OWC .

About the SSD i'm less concern , it's the memory that i'm worried about so i went to apple site to see if it says anything about memory upgrade and i found this :

" 4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1333MHz DDR3 memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB "

Did i spend my money for nothing ?

So, do you think i should of got only 8 GB of memory ?

link:

(if you wanna see for your selfe search "Processor and memory " in the page )

Please let me know what do you think ..

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), MacBook Pro 13-inch, Early 2011; 2.

Thanks for the fast reply !

I know the memory will fit and work properly because i saw a lot of videos of people that install the 16GB,

BUT:

If it says in the apple site that you should not get more then 8 GB of memory , then they have got to have a reason for this .. they would not put that line for nothing .. long turn effects mabey ? i dont know ..

All I know is that the last thing that i need is to take my MBP to be fixed because of my adventure ..

SO =

The Q still stands :

* Does Upgrade to 16 GB memory will have ANY bad effects on my MBP ?

* Is it possible that the guys in apple mean that you can upgrade each slot up to an 8 GB ?

That is correct, but as you have plenty of spare time contact Apple Customer Support and do what they say.
