Join existing network: Error when connection airport express (last step) and my MacMini's wifi fails.

I am trying to joing my AEX to an exisitng network. During the last stages, when the MacMini is talking to the network and the AEX, the MacMini's wifi cuts out and the AEX cannot connect... at which time I receive an unexpected error message.

What gives? I've set these things up many times before and currently have a AEX set up on the network, recongnized by the MacMini.

Suggest that you try using AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion to see if the full featured version of the application will perform better than the "lite" version that is packed in with the Lion operating system.

You can keep both AirPort Utility 5.6 and 6.x on your Mac and use the one that you want or need.

If you are using the Manual Setup option in AirPort Utility 5.6, you may need to hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Wireless Mode selection box to display the "Join a wireless network" setting.
