    Hello,

Which Disks or Discs can't it read, the Hard Drive, or the Install Discs?

    1. Insert installer DVD
    2. Restart Mac holding C key
    3. Proceed with install until you see a menu bar at the top
    4. Select Disk Utilities from menu
    5. Erase disk
    6. Optionally partition to make 2 volumes - I always do this
    7. Install new OS on one volume
    8. Optionally don't import anything during install process to avoid reintroducing bugs
    9. After install optionally put a bootable clone of your earlier OS on the other volume
