What settings are you using for the outgoing mail server?

1&1 accounts work fine on my devices.

What about the advanced settings?

Use SSL should be ON

Authentication should be set to Password

IMAP Path Prefix should be /

Server Port should be 993

My 1and1 hosted UK email account also works fine

My iPad settings are (as are my iPhone

smtp.1und1.de

( 1&1 are a german company )

try deleting account on iPad and recreating

and others have found adding user name and P/W to smtp setting helps ,even though it says not required

Are you set up as IMAP or pop3

I use pop3 but IMAP allows different access control

It is usually a decision you take depending on how you want to manage your

mail IMAP controls everything at server level

I use pop3 but that is my preference Imap will mean your mail is at same level regardless

of which device you use
