I cannot bypass iCloud server welcome page on a properly set up and working iCloud for iPad

I have iCloud properly set up and working on iPad, but I can't log into iCloud server from my iPad. I always see the default: iCloud.com/ipad_welcome page. There is no way I see to bypass this to get to a sign in page. ICloud properly in synch with all devices. I am using IOS 5.1.1. Can anyone help me with this issue?

iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1

You cannot access iCloud.com on a mobile device using Safari. There really is no need (in Apple's mind anyway) for you to need to access your account from the iPad.

If you have the iWorks apps - you have the files on the iPad. If you want to get to your calendar or notes - you have them on the iPad. For mail - you have the mail app. Photos ... Photo Stream.

What are you needing to access in iCloud.com that you cannot access on the iPad?

Logging into your account is meant to be done on a computer using a web browser. From there you can download files if you want to edit them on your computer.

Thank you Demo for your prompy reply. I didn't know about the inability to access iCloud on an iPad or iPhone using Safari. You are right, the same thing occurs on my iPhone - I just get the welcome page.

I would have thought that access would be permitted. One reason would be if I lost my iPhone and didn't have a computer handy to use the Find My iPhone feature. If I had my iPad handy, that would be a good way to check on my phone's whereabouts. But I guess that is a no go.

Demo,

You say there is no reason to access icloud.com from mobile Safari, but that is not true in my case. If I lost my iPhone and want to turn on Lost Mode from my other device, I am unable to do so 😟 The mobile site just prompts me to download the App, but then the App tells me I need the newest version of iOS before I can download it. Since my device is a couple years old, it no longer gets iOS updates, therefore I can not get the App.

Apple is not very friendly to it's users that don't feel the need to get the latest device before the old one dies out.

Your time would have been better spent submitting feedback to Apple rather than resurrecting a thread that's been dormant for over two years.
