why does safari for windows always freeze?!

I am using Safari 5.1.7. (with only 1 plug-in called "Disconnect 2.2.0) on Windows7 and it keeps reloading all open windows at least 2-3x / day. In the process Safari also tends to freeze, so I have to restart Safari. Very often when I try to "re-open all windows from last session" Safari freezes again, so I have to manually re-open all web-sites again. If you just had 10+ windows open this can be very annoying.

Ironically one of the web-sites that almost ALWAYS makes Safari re-load / freeze is www.icloud.com !!!

This has been going on for years and it is super annoying.

Can anyone from Apple please tell me if this is something that developers are trying to improve? Or will Safari users have to live with this? I am ready to change the browser if the latter is the case ...
