iphone ical sync problem

For the last couple of months, whenever I try to sync my iPhone to my Macbook I get this message: 'iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone.' I connect via apple usb cable and use iTunes to sync. Any solutions?
