I'm in the publication part of the upload and when I click on the choose, my book in IBA is grayed out and can't select it?
Also, how do I do create a publication preview?

As it says in the guide, you need to export to .ibooks and upload the exported file.

No, sorry. You need to Share/Export as .ibooks, then upload that file.
The .iba file is the editable document, not the final file/book for the store.
