I am now part of the tribe: Got my MBP!

Hi

It finally arrived - and very impressed I am too. No odd noises/whines to mention. The only things I notice are the vibration from hard disk and how hot it gets. It'll certainly be a friend during those long cold winter evenings!

The speakers are fine for a notebook computer and the only trouble I had with my wireless router was finding the WEP key!

Sure - it starts W86110... I presume the W doesn't count as a digit 😉

nice to hear about a problem free MBP... if everyone with a problem free mbp posted here, we would see how small the whine issue really is.

Mine didn't start to whine until a week later, except it only whines SOMETIMES...but almost never.

But...congradulations to you mr. old bill gates.

I have a week 11 Macbook Pro and it has the cpu whine. But, that's the only minor problem. No LCD buzz or any other problems it's almost perfect.

congrats on your perfect mbp. i am proud to say that mine is perfect as well. i have had no problems whatsoever even when using apps that have to use roseta. yes it is a bit slower but it doesnt really make that big of a deal. i can wait until the apps that i am using become "universal" or whatever term they use.

All MBP's have the CPU whine. The sound is at the threshold of some people's (especially older folk's) hearing. Also, the sound goes away when you plug your MBP in (comes on again when you go back on battery).

I get a kick out of people who say they don't have it. I have seen several of these machines and they all have it. Some have the LCD buzz too (mine doesn't).

If you can't hear it, it is because A, your hearing is bad, B, you don't use

You're right about older folks not hearing it so much. I have a whine of my own and I think its type #1...

I don't care what you say, my whine went away, & I'm pretty sure that my 15 year old ears didn't just go on 60. I've heard the whine...& mine doesn't have it...otherwise why would Apple allow people to return their MacBook (Pro's) when the one begin sent in has the whine...& the one being sent back has one too??!!

How do you find out which week your Macbook is? Is it in the serial number?
