Q: hi, how can I download movies onto my i pad?

Hi, 

 

I have just bought a new ipad.  Never used one before, and want to put some movies on it ... I know I can sync straight from itunes ... but what about the movies i have on my computer that are not in i- tunes ... can I get them in itunes? or do I have to do it another way?
