when i put my iphone and ipad into my imac it tells me they are already linked to another computer but i have imac now so i want to use this instead so how do i get round this, as if i backup now it delets everything.
iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), iOS 5.1.1
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
- Or backup the iTunes library and restore to new computer by:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
- Connect the device to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the device under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the device from that backup.
Note the backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like alls and music.
i have done the music part when i put it all to an external hard drive,
the problem i have is that when i go on itemes in the imac and i look at purches not on this devise it tells me there is nothing there so all the apps i have on my iphone and ipad will be lost if i syconise them up to the imac which is what it warns me when i clicked on it.
i thought icload would transfer all the aps.

Is the computer signed into and authorized for the iTunes account that purched the iTunes? Go to iTunes>Store

i got an app for my lad yesterday and it has told me that one is avaiable but all the other it tells me i have to buy them again when i click on them.
