mac Air and an apple display

Hi I have a mac Air and want to connect an apple display but the connector is smaller than the port, what do I have to buy to get the 2 connected? Nick

Hello, I don't know if the Airs came with different video ports, but which model is it?

At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, report the version of OSX from that window, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...
