How did all of my tracks become unchecked

Question

I just imported some MP3s , closed iTunes then when I reopened it, all of a sudden all of my songs became unchecked.

How can I select them all and have them checked as they used to be?

iTunes 10.6.3

MacPro OSX 10.5.8

Command-click an empty checkbox and all tracks visible in the current view will become checked.
