how do i view folders hidden on an external storage device previously used on a windows os (windows 7) on a mac

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Welcome to Apple Communities


Open Terminal and write:



defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Finally, go to  > Force Quit and relaunch Finder. To hide files, change YES to NO
