Can you reinstall the app store?
I have an MBP 13" (early 2011) and my App store won't open (the one in iTunes is fine). I was wondering if I can reinstall it?

Download and run the 10.7.4 Combo update. Don't worry if it is already installed, you can do it again over the top. This should restore your App.
Be sure to back up important data beforehand.
Call me clueless, but I'm relatively new to Mac, but where would I go to do this? 😝 The iTunes app store?
Wouldn't call you anything but bassgirl 😉
In the middle of something at the moment but go to Apple Support > Downloads >
l/h side of page > OS X Lion update (Client Combo) > learn more.
Thanks! Gonna try that now. This bass playin' girlie thanks you!
Ok. Update: Can open App Store if I go under the apple on the upper left corner and select App Store, but can't through the shortcut.
Hello Bass playing girlie,
We seem to be making progress. You have App Store. I often take that route when I use it. Now what short cut did you expect to find ... an icon in the dock? Have you checked Finder > applications since the download. There should be an icon in there you can copy to the dock.
Seems every reason to be hopeful.
Could be a mis-description on my part; rather than copy, simply drag it to the dock. The original will remain in the applications file.
Woo hoo! I deleted the App Store icon and copied and pasted the icon from my App folder on the desktop and all is well. 😀 Yay!
I am so pleased for you. Thank you for the star.
