Q: I have the ipad 1, and I tried to reboot it but when I connected my ipad to the computer it did nothing.  When it is charging the apple logo simply flashes on and off again.  It is trying to start up but can't.  Help!

I have an ipad and the only thing it does when you plug it in to the wall is flash the start up apple logo.  It will not reboot because itunes can not reconginze it.  I have tried holding the home and power button's together but it doesn't help.

Try letting the battery drain. After it is drained and you plug it in to charge, that will force it to reboot.

It will not reboot because iTunes will not recognize it doesn't make sense. iTunes has nothing to do with rebooting the iPad. The step that you tried where you hold down both buttons until the Apple logo appears is the rebooting process.

If you mean that you couldn't restore it because iTunes won't recognize it, you can try forcing the iPad into recovery mode and restore it that way.

I'm sorry, you are correct I am trying to restore my ipad because it stopped working.   We thought the battery was dead so we plugged it into the wall charger.  All it does when plugged in is flash the apple logo like it is going to start up and then shut off.  It repeats this every few seconds while it is plugged into the wall.  I let it charge overnight and still nothing.

When I hold the power button and the home button down together while the ipad is plugged into the wall, it does flash then after I release the power button the connect to itunes screen comes on.   But when I connect it to my computer it goes blank.   itunes does not recongnize my ipad when I plug it into the computer.  I have used the same cord to plug in my other devices and itunes recongnizes them so it isn't the usb cord.

It seems as if my system has crashed and I think this may just be an apple service trip for me.  But thanks so much for the advice.   =D

    Hello,

I am currently having the same issue. Did you ever fix the problem? If so, how was the situation resolved?

    Thanks.
