My classic 30 gb iPod has no sound all of a sudden. Not with earbuds or on anipod stereo system. I have restored it and resnyched it. All looks good-- just no sound!

My Classic iPod 30gb has no sound all of a sudden. Not with earbuds or on 2 different iPod stereos. I restored it and resnyched it and nothing changed. It appears to be operating normally in all other aspects. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

iPod classic, Windows 7

Try Resetting the iPod

  1. After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
  2. Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
  3. Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
  4. Then release the buttons
  5. Select your preferred language.

If the above doesn't work, it could be the earphone jack has been shorted, or clogged up and putting the Dock also in mute. This maybe repaired by 3rd Party iPod service.

Have a nice day!🙂
